Welcome to Faith Church! We are a group of Christ followers who try to live out our faith according to the standards of God’s word and Jesus’ earthly example. We aren’t perfect - just average human beings. BUT we are committed to the work that God has set before us, and we enjoy working & worshiping together!
We are part a larger ministry or denomination called the Evangelical Congregational Church, which has been in existence since the early 1800s. As an EC ministry, we are committed to five core values – (1) a passion for Christ and commitment to Biblical authority as the inerrant, inspired Word of God; (2) Christ-like mercy for ALL people, seen through compassion works and the fervent proclamation of Christ and His kingdom; (3) Ongoing development of servant leadership; (4) Commitment to healthy organizations which embody Christ and successfully impact their communities; (5) Unity in the body of Christ, seen by their willingness to work across denominational lines.
As a ministry in the Williams Valley, we seek to know Christ and to make Him known to as many people as possible in our region. We believe that serving the core needs of our community will make an impact. Therefore we are dedicated to service – PRIMARILY to deep spiritual needs, met only through the Truth of God’s Word and an encounter with His living Spirit; THEN to the physical and emotional needs of our neighbors met through Spirit-guided acts of mercy.
Our worship services on Sunday mornings are designed to be meeting places with the living (& ever-present) God – where He is celebrated and we are transformed. Style-wise we are committed only to doing our best to balance a depth of truth with a depth of experience in a way that reflects and connects with God’s heart. Often this is through a celebration of singing (hymn, songs, & spiritual songs), but also through reflective meditation on God’s Word.
We have existed as “Faith Church” since 1991. However, this ministry resulted from the successful merger of two churches, Grace E.C. in Wiconisco (1831) and St. Paul’s E.C. in Dayton (1876). Our current building was completed in 1995.
